Blueberry Yuzu Gin & Tonic
This modern, reimagined Gin & Tonic was one or the most popular drinks from the recent Gin & Tonic flight in our tasting room. We use a tonic syrup and water kefir in place of more traditional tonic water to create this unique and exciting variation.
“&” Tonic is an all-natural concentrated tonic syrup made here in the Pacific Northwest. The syrup brings the traditional tonic flavor, aroma, and bitterness to this drink. This would normally be added to club soda to create the tonic water, however, we had a better idea.
Drift West Water Kefir is a probiotic beverage made by culturing water and organic cane sugar with kefir “grains”—a live culture, known as a SCOBY or a Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeasts. Water kefir is often flavored with fruit, herbs, or spices and carbonated. We use their Blueberry Yuzy to bring the fizziness, delicious flavor, and wonderful color to this visually stunning G&T that tastes even better than it looks.
