That commission is the only money this site makes. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placement and no arrangement where an operator gets to see or approve a page.
What it does not buy
- Not a pass. The five checks are the same for an operator that pays us and one that does not. A commercial relationship has never changed a result and, if it ever came to that, the relationship goes rather than the finding.
- Not a position. Nothing on this site is ordered by what it earns. There is no ranking to sell.
- Not silence. Where a check fails on an operator we have a commercial link with, the failure gets written up and the link goes.
How to spot one
Any page carrying an affiliate link says so in the page itself, near the link, not only here.
Outbound commercial links are marked rel="sponsored" in the page source, which is the
same signal we ask operators to be straight about.
Why disclose at all
Because a reader deciding whether to trust a method deserves to know who pays for it. Consumer protection rules in Ireland and the EU require commercial intent to be identifiable, and beyond the legal minimum it is simply the difference between a published method and an advert dressed as one.
